If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I’m happiest outside.
Camping trips, fishing days, hunting, foraging, road trips, chasing sunsets… and usually getting caught in a bit of classic New Zealand weather along the way.
It’s a big part of why I love living where we do. I still pinch myself sometimes that I get to call this place home, and now, with a little one on the way, it feels even more special knowing they’ll grow up with all of this as their backyard too.
Outback Trading has just naturally become part of those adventures.
I’m not someone who wants to worry about what I’m wearing when we head out. I want to be warm, comfortable and able to get stuck into whatever we’re doing. If the weather turns, even better if I don’t have to run for cover!
That’s probably why I love my Outback oilskins so much. They’re made for actually being outside. Wind, rain, mud, early mornings, chilly evenings around camp… they just work.
And I love that they still look good while doing it.
There’s something about an oilskin that feels right at home here on the West Coast. Rugged, practical and made for weather that can change its mind pretty quickly.
Some of my favourite memories from the last few years have been made outdoors, usually somewhere a little wild, often with an Outback layer thrown over the top.
And I have a feeling there are plenty more adventures to come.
